Matt Kenseth didn’t think his wife, Katie, could get hurt entering a charity race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“I’d never seen a little car like that crash that hard. Katie Kenseth was one of 14 NASCAR wives and girlfriends practicing for the Better Half Dash, which is scheduled to be held before the Oct. 15 Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup race at the 1.5-mile oval.
