MTV Video Music Awards 2011. At the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards,
Lady Gaga broke the record for most nominations in a single show with 13, and took home eight awards (seven for “Bad Romance” and one for “Telephone”).

Katy Perry‘s rack of nods includes video of the year and female video for the hit “Firework,” pop video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” and collaboration for her Kanye West-assisted “E.T.”

Kanye West picked up seven nominations apiece. Other multiple nominees included Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and
Bruno Mars.
During Wednesday’s night’s (July 20) on-air nominations event,
Katy Perry shouted when she heard about her noms from MTV News’ Sway,
“I have nine nominations!”.
